Erich Pratt: Firearm background checks don’t stop ‘the average bad guy’

Gun Owners of America Senior Vice President Erich Pratt says federal background check systems erroneously prohibit good Americans from owning guns and register those who pass the test in a federal database. “Given the failure of the background check, we should be disbanding this system,” says Pratt. “Not trying to expand it to capture even more law-abiding gun owners.”
