India government opens investigation into BBC for alleged foreign exchange violations

According to public broadcaster Doordarshan, India’s financial crimes agency opened an investigation into the BBC Thursday over alleged violations of foreign exchange rules. The BBC has reportedly been obliged to hand over financial documents and staff testimony to the Enforcement Directorate, a law enforcement agency that investigates money laundering offenses and violations of foreign exchange laws.
