India successfully launches rocket in historic mission to the moon

The Indian Space Research Organization announced it had successfully launched the Chandrayaan-3 rocket into orbit on Friday, July 14th. The launch, which took place in Sriharikota, is India’s latest attempt to achieve a soft landing on the moon. The vessel was equipped with a lander, a rover and a propulsion module, according to news reports.
