King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla greet onlookers during coronation procession

King Charles and Queen Camilla waved to onlookers in Parliament Square on Saturday, May 6, as the coronation procession returned to Buckingham Palace.

The royal couple was accompanied by nearly 4,000 armed forces personnel for the largest ceremonial military operation of its kind since the coronation of the late Queen Elizabeth II in 1953. King Charles can be seen wearing the Imperial State Crown, with Queen Camilla wearing the Queen Mary’s Crown. Both crowns were placed on the monarchs’ heads during the coronation ceremony in Westminster Abbey.
