Major heat, wildfires, power concerns in California
Intense heatwaves originating from a "heat dome" have caused wildfires threatening millions of people in the Los Angeles metropolitan area. A wildfire near Castaic, CA has burned over 2,500 acres near Interstate-5. The wildfires have forced evacuations and severe stress on the electrical grid. Residents have been asked to reduce energy usage significantly to prevent potential blackouts.
