Neil Chatterjee: US needs West Coast LNG terminal to serve Asian market

Neil Chatterjee, former commissioner of the U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, says he’d like to see liquefied natural gas (LNG) infrastructure expand to the West Coast. “I wrestled with this during my time at FERC. I tried to approve a terminal in Oregon, and it was blocked. California won’t allow it; Oregon won’t allow it,” he says. “We are blocked on our West Coast and that inability is going to hinder our opportunities to serve the Asian market.”
