Speaking at a joint press conference with New York Governor Kathy Hochul (D-NY) on Monday, New York City Mayor Eric Adams said lengthy processing times in immigration court are “a major impediment and interruption” for migrants pursuing the American dream. Adams said immigrants helped build this country and requested the White House expedite work permits for asylum seekers. More than 5,800 migrants arrived in New York City last week.
