Ruins of Emperor Nero’s theater unearthed in Rome

Archaeologists announced Wednesday the discovery of the ruins of Emperor Nero’s Theater, noted in ancient Roman texts but never found until now. The dig is part of an ongoing excavation project that began in 2020 and has included the recovery of glass goblets, coins, and remnants of musical instruments. The site is steps away from the Vatican and is believed to be where Nero rehearsed poetry and music in 1st century AD.
