"[Penn Station will] be a safer, more beautiful, cleaner, open, attractive, enticing station, it's going to generate a lot of economic opportunity around midtown Manhattan and all around the station."

Steve Bradbury, Deputy Secretary of Transportation, noted that the project will unlock the value of several vacant lots around the station.
