Thousands of Texans without power as record winter storm impacts southern US

Austin Energy reported that thousands of customers were left without power as winter weather continued to impact Texas on Wednesday, February 1. Footage posted to Twitter by Stephen Austin shows icy tree limbs scattered across the ground in Round Rock, Texas. The National Weather Service (NWS) said power outages and tree damage would become more likely due to increasing ice in the region.
