Two US Navy sailors arrested for sharing military intelligence with China

The Department of Justice announced Thursday the indictment of two U.S. Navy sailors who allegedly sent sensitive national defense information to Chinese intelligence officials. Martin Estrada, U.S. Attorney for the Central District of California, said in a press conference that both sailors sent military intelligence data, photographs, and technical material to China from 2021 until May 2023. One of the soldiers, 22-year-old Jinchao Wei, was recruited for the scheme by a Chinese intelligence officer while applying for U.S. citizenship.
