US spends military security cooperation with Niger

The United States has suspended counterterrorism operations with the Nigerien military due to the current situation in Niger, according to a Defense Department spokesperson. These efforts come in the wake of the takeover that ousted democratically elected President Mohamad Bazoum. Although American troops are suspending counterterrorism efforts, soldiers remain stationed in Niger.
