Alongside Zelensky, Trump says ‘final stages’ of peace talks taking place
"It will either end or it's going to go on for a long time," Trump says of the war between Russia and Ukraine as he meets with Zelensky in Florida
President Trump said he and Ukraine President Zelensky are entering the "final stages" of peace talks on Sunday.
The two are meeting in Florida.
"We're going to see. Otherwise, it's going to go on for a long time," he said. "It will either end or it's going to go on for a long time and millions of additional people are going to be killed. Nobody wants that."
Prior to the meeting, Trump spoke with Russian President Putin and described the conversation as "very productive."
A reporter asked about security guarantees as the two headed into the meeting.
"What a stupid question," Trump said. "Nobody even knows what the security agreement is going to state. There will be a security agreement. It will be a strong agreement. The European nations are very much involved."
Trump said he thinks both Putin and Zelensky are serious about peace.
