At least 35 people died and more than 100 were wounded in a bombing at a political rally in Pakistan in a district that borders Afghanistan, police and health officials said.
The blast occurred during the workers convention of the Jamiat Ulema Islam party, a Sunni political party, in the outskirts of the city of Khar, The Associated Press reported, citing senior police officer Nazir Khan.
The number of casualties may be higher, as CNN reported 39 deaths and more than 120 injuries.
A local party leader, Maulana Ziaullah, died in the blast, officials said.
