Driver charged in bus crash that killed 10 wedding guests, injured 25 others
It has not been reported that the newlyweds were on the bus.
A driver has been charged after at least 10 people died and 25 others were injured when their bus overturned returning from a wedding in Australia, officials said.
The bus was returning from a wedding at a winery north of Sydney on Sunday evening when it overturned near the town of Greta. Officials said they are still in the process of identifying the deceased, the BBC reported Monday.
The 58-year-old bus driver was charged with 10 counts of dangerous driving resulting in death.
It has not been reported that the newlyweds were on the bus, but 36 people were, including the driver who was unhurt, according to CNN.
The crash site is "still an active crime scene," Police Commissioner Karen Webb said.
The driver underwent mandatory alcohol and drug testing, but the cause of the crash may be unclear for some time, Webb also said.
The accident occurred around 11:30 p.m. local time Sunday during heavy fog. The bus rolled over while turning at a roundabout off a highway.
