Catherine, Princess of Wales, hospitalized for abdominal surgery
The princess, also known as Kate Middleton, underwent a successful surgery on Tuesday, but she is unlikely to return to her public duties until after Easter.
Catherine, the Princess of Wales, is recovering from planned abdominal surgery and is expected to remain in the hospital for between 10 to 14 more days, Kensington Palace announced Wednesday.
The princess, also known as Kate Middleton, underwent a successful surgery on Tuesday, but she is unlikely to return to her public duties until after Easter, according to a statement from Kensington Palace, which is the residence of the future king and queen of England.
"The Princess of Wales appreciates the interest this statement will generate," the palace said. "She hopes that the public will understand her desire to maintain as much normality for her children as possible; and her wish that her personal medical information remains private."
Catherine also apologized for needing to postpone upcoming engagements while she recovers.
