German Chancellor Olaf Scholz on Monday lost a vote of confidence in the country’s Bundestag, which sets the stage for an early election in February 2025 instead of the fall.

According to The Guardian, it is the sixth time in Germany’s history that such a vote of confidence took place and the fourth time a president lost the vote.
