The United Kingdom has released on bail five men arrested over the weekend during an incident at an air base in Southwest England used by the United States.

The individuals were arrested "on suspicion of offenses under the explosives act" on Sunday, with the incident prompting the bomb squad to deploy to the Fairford Air Base.

British authorities confirmed that the men had been released, but said they were still under investigation, the BBC reported.

President Donald Trump told reporters the same day that the men arrested were "looking to do big damage to our fort," in apparent reference to the air base.

Royal Air Force Fairford is a base in Gloucestershire, England. American forces have used the base amid the ongoing Iran war.
