Ukraine struck three Russian oil refineries Monday, a day after United States Special Envoys Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff departed the region.

The envoys visited Moscow and Kyiv over the weekend to revive peace negotiations aimed at winding down the war in Ukraine. The pair visited Moscow on Saturday and ended on Sunday in Kyiv, which marked the first official trip to Ukraine by the two Trump representatives. 

Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky said the strikes occurred at oil-processing plants in Russia’s Perm region. Ukraine also targeted launch sites for Russian drones in the Kursk Oblast region and another site in the Black Sea.

"Our warriors continue responding justly to Russian strikes on Ukraine," Zelensky said in an X post. "An oil refinery was hit in the Ryazan region. Our long-range capabilities were used against oil-processing facilities in the Perm region and Tatarstan, and against a site used to store and launch attack drones in the Kursk region. A target was also hit in the Black Sea. I thank every one of our units for their precision."
