Former Ukrainian parliamentary speaker Andriy Parubiy was fatally shot in the western city of Lviv on Saturday and authorities are still searching for the killer.

He was speaker from 2016 to 2019.

According to the Prosecutor General's office, Parubiy was hit with several shots and died immediately. 

The attacker is still on the loose, according to Reuters.
