Police said officers are searching for the kidnapped victims.
At least 30 people were killed and several others abducted after gunmen stormed a rural community in northern Nigeria’s Niger state on Saturday night, according to police.
The group of gunmen attacked Kasuwan-Daji, a village in the Borgu local government area, opening fire on people in the streets and homes before setting fire to the market and multiple houses, Niger state police spokesperson Wasiu Abiodun said.
Eyewitnesses said the death toll could be higher than official counts, with some reporting at least 37 fatalities and others still missing as of Sunday.
