The U.S. and Iran on Wednesday wrapped up the latest round of talks after two days of indirect negotiations in Doha, Qatar.

The U.S. was represented by President Trump’s special envoys, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, who met with mediators from Pakistan and Qatar, according to The Washington Times

They also met with Qatar’s emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, to discuss the status of U.S.-Iran negotiations and developments in Lebanon. But there were no direct meetings with Iranian diplomats.

President Trump said on Wednesday, despite the recent exchange of military attacks, that negotiations are “moving along well” and that “They’ve had very good meetings, and we’ll see,” before he headed out to North Dakota.

Iran’s deputy foreign minister, Kazem Gharibabadi, confirmed that the Iranian delegation had met with mediators but, he said, the meetings focused on a ceasefire in Lebanon and the status of Iran’s $6 billion in frozen assets held by Qatar.

The two countries signed a memorandum of understanding last month that gives diplomats 60 days to negotiate a final deal on sanctions, the status of the Strait of Hormuz and Iran’s nuclear program.
