Foreign policy expert Walid Phares says those calling for ceasefire in Israel-Hamas war are ignorant
"If Hamas is left without being dismantled, their next target is going to be Egypt," Phares said.
Foreign policy expert and national security adviser Dr. Walid Phares said Thursday that those calling for a ceasefire amid the Israel-Hamas war are ignorant and don't know what they are talking about.
"You have thousands of uneducated, uninformed, misinformed people here in the west, specifically in the United States who are chanting on the street 'ceasefire,'" he said on the "Just the News, No Noise" TV show. "They don't know what they're talking about. This is a tactical mode by Hamas and other jihadists so that they could have the upper hand on the battlefield."
Israel has been at war with the terrorist group Hamas since Oct. 7 after the deadly attack that killed over a thousand Israelis.
Pro-Palestinian protesters have been calling for a ceasefire around the country as the war has continued, specifically highlighting the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
"Ceasefires are not that easy or not as well-respected as in other wars," Phares said. "And that could be a problem for Israel. Eventually, not just Israel. If Hamas is left without being dismantled, their next target is going to be Egypt."
He said that calling a ceasefire before dismantling Hamas would be "the biggest mistake of the century."
