The Taliban marked the third year of its return to power in Afghanistan with a military parade at Bagram Air Base, a former U.S. military stronghold during the war that began after the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.

The Biden Administration's handling of the U.S. withdraw from Afghanistan in 2021 was heavily criticized after it resulted in the death of 13 service members.

A substantial amount of U.S. military equipment also fell into the hands of the Taliban as a result of the withdraw.

Some of the U.S. weapons and military vehicles left behind were displayed at the parade in photos that circulated online.
