President Donald Trump is planning to continue the strategy of blocking imports and exports out of Iran's ports as a means to force the regime to agree to end its nuclear enrichment program.

During discussions in Monday's Situation Room, as well as other meetings, Trump told his aides to prepare for an extended blockade, the Wall Street Journal reported

Iran this week offered a proposal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and end the war with the U.S., but negotiations on removing its stockpiles of enriched uranium would be postponed under the agreement.

Trump categorically rejected the deal, and has vowed to continue strangling Iran's economy until a nuclear deal is part of the agreement.
