President Trump warned on Saturday that "bad things" are going to happen if Afghanistan doesn’t give Bagram Airbase back to the U.S.

The U.S. expanded the base, which was originally constructed by the Soviets in the 1950s.

Bagram Air Base was the largest U.S. military base in Afghanistan during the U.S. war on terrorism.

The base fell to Taliban rebel forces after the NATO-trained Afghan National Army surrendered during the withdrawel of U.S. forces from Afghanistan.

"If Afghanistan doesn’t give Bagram Airbase back to those that built it, the United States of America, BAD THINGS ARE GOING TO HAPPEN!!!" Trump wrote on Truth Social.
