Two US Navy guided-missile destroyers successfully went through the Strait of Hormuz on Saturday, according to several media reports.

This marked the first time such U.S. ships passed through the waterway since the beginning of the war with Iran.

Iran state TV reported that a U.S. ship tried to pass through but it turned around after Iran threatened to strike it.

U.S. sources have not yet verified that report.

Direct U.S.-Iran ceasefire talks are underway on Saturday in Pakistan.
