The U.S. Consulate in Sydney was vandalized on Monday with what appeared to be pro-Palestinian graffiti.

According to reports, a person wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt smashed holes in the glass windows of the consulate with a sledgehammer.

Inverted red triangles were spray painted on the building.

"I would just say that people should have respectful political debate and discourse," Australian Prime Minster Anthony Albanese said during a televised news conference. "Measures such as painting the U.S. consulate do nothing to advance the cause of those who have committed what is of course a crime to damage property."
