President Donald Trump on Monday stated that the ceasefire with Iran was "on life support" amid a growing diplomatic deadline between Tehran and Washington and the exchange of live rounds across the Persian Gulf.

"I would say the ceasefire is on massive life support, where the doctor walks in and says, 'sir, your loved one has approximately 1% chance of living.'"

Trump's remarks came from the Oval Office during an unrelated event. He also lamented the difficulties of dealing with Iran, saying they agreed to commitments and then backed out. He rejected the Iranian peace proposal over the weekend, calling it "totally unacceptable."
