Dressed in warm clothes and holding Greenland’s flag, the demonstrators made their way toward the U.S. Consulate, chanting slogans such as, “Greenland is not for sale”
In the capital city of Nuuk, Greenland, thousands of residents marched through snowy, near-freezing conditions on Saturday to voice their opposition to U.S. President Donald Trump’s repeated statements about taking control of Greenland.
Dressed in warm clothes and holding Greenland’s flag, the demonstrators made their way toward the U.S. Consulate, chanting slogans such as, “Greenland is not for sale.”
Other signs read, "Hands off Greenland," and "Orange hands off Greenland."
The protest drew a wide range of participants and police said it was the largest assembly the city has seen.
Protests also took place in Copenhagen, Denmark.
