Brittney Griner, WNBA champion player and two-time Olympic gold medalist, will remain in custody in Russia for at least two more months in connection with a cannabis-related charge in February.

The Russian news agency TASS reported that a Moscow court has ruled that Griner, a player for the Phoenix Mercury, will continue to be held in Russian through at least May 19, pending an investigation into the circumstances leading to her  arrest.

Griner, who also plays international in Russia, was arrested after officials at the Sheremetyevo International Airport searched her luggage and found vape cartridges containing cannabis derived oils. If convicted abroad, the athlete could face up to 10 years in prison.

The state news outlet also reported that a representative from the U.S. consulate has yet visited Griner.
