Border Patrol chief testifies migrant crisis result of Biden's 'no consequences' policies
He predicted that illegal immigration will increase amid already record-breaking levels.
Border Patrol Chief Raul Ortiz has testified under oath that President Biden's "no consequences" border policies are causing the record migrant surge at the southern border.
"In my experience, we have seen increases when there are no consequences," Ortiz said under oath in a recorded deposition last month as part of Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody's lawsuit against the Department of Homeland Security and other federal border agencies.
Ortiz testified July 28, and video copy of the testimony was obtained by Fox News, which published it Tuesday.
"So, if migrant populations believe … there are not going to be consequences, more of them will come to the border. Is that what you're saying?" the attorney asked, according to the video.
Ortiz replied: "There is an assumption that if migrant populations are told that there is a potential that they may be released, that, yes, you can see increases."
The attorney pressed: "So, it will increase at an exponential rate. Is that what is being suggested here?"
Ortiz, who has worked at U.S. Border Patrol for more than three decades, predicted that illegal immigration will increase amid already record-breaking levels.
He later agreed with the attorney's statement that since Biden was elected, "aliens illegally entering the United States perceive that they will be able to enter and remain in the United States."
