Fox anchor Bret Baier asks for record $31.9M for DC home, family move to their $37M Palm Beach home
Baier said he plans on looking for a smaller place in Washington, where his show is filmed.
Fox News Channel anchor Bret Baier is listing his Washington, D.C., mansion for $31.9 million just one year after moving into it as his family moves to Palm Beach, Fla.
If the home, which the Baiers spent about $25 million to build, receives its asking price, it would set a city record, listing agent Daniel Heider, of TTR Sotheby’s International Realty, told The Wall Street Journal on Wednesday.
Baier is the chief political anchor of Fox News and the executive editor and anchor of the channel's news show, "Special Report."
For the D.C. home, Baier and his wife, Amy Baier, bought 1.5-acres in the city's exclusive Foxhall neighborhood for $5.4 million in 2018.
The couple tore down an older home and spent about three years building the 5-bedroom, 9-bathroom home. The total cost of the land and the house was about $30 million, Baier said.
The family said they moved in around April 2022, but they bought a $37 million home in Palm Beach over the summer after visiting Florida during COVID.
"The move to Florida was a great adventure for our family, and the boys fell in love with it," Baier said, referring to his two teenage sons.
He said he plans on looking for a smaller place in Washington, where his show is filmed.
The D.C. home, which is listed on Coldwell Banker and Zillow, features numerous amenities, including an indoor basketball court, a swimming pool, a workout center and a putting green with sand traps.
