FBI raids home of top NYC Mayor Adams' fundraiser over alleged improper campaign contributions
The probe allegedly centers on Brooklyn-based construction company, Turkish nationals having made improper donations to the Adam's 2021 campaign.
FBI agents on Thursday raided the home of a top fundraiser and campaign consultant for New York Democrat Mayor Eric Adams.
The search warrant was executed on Brianna Suggs at her Brooklyn home, according to WABC-TV in New York.
The FBI is reportedly looking for evidence related to campaign donations made by the Brooklyn-based KSK Construction Group.
The construction company and Turkish nationals allegedly made improper donations to the Adam's 2021 campaign.
KSK donated about $14,000 to Adams's 2021 campaign, the TV station also reports.
"I feel extremely comfortable about how I comply with rules and procedures," Adams said after after the search about the federal probe. "I hold myself to a high standard, and I hold my campaign to a high standard, and I hold my staff at City Hall to a high standard.
"I'm very clear that it is my responsibility to hold myself to a high standard and I will comply with any inquiry that is made and I am demanding that my team do the same."
