Kamala Harris scolds anti-Israel protesters at Michigan rally: 'I'm speaking'
“Kamala! Kamala! You can’t hide! We won’t vote for genocide!” the protesters chanted at the Detroit rally.
Presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris on Wednesday clapped back at anti-Israel protesters at her campaign rally in Detroit, telling them, "I’m speaking."
“Kamala! Kamala! You can’t hide! We won’t vote for genocide!” the protesters chanted.
Harris responded: “You know what?" If you want Donald Trump to win, then say that. Otherwise, I’m speaking."
Harris is competing against GOP presidential nominee Trump for the White House, amid a schism in the Democratic Party between pro-Israel and pro-Palestinian factions, sparked by the Israel-Hamas war in Gaza.
Harris later said at the rally that while every voice matters and she believes in democracy, and that now is her time to talk, according to The New York Post.
Pro-Palestinian protesters have showed up to numerous Democratic events and protested as many of them have called for a ceasefire in the war and have claimed the Jewish state is committing genocide in Gaza.
The war was sparked by Hamas' Oct. 7, 2023, terror attack on Israel in which 1,200 people were killed.
