Biden to two-time Pulitzer Prize winner: 'I'm kind of looking for back-to-back myself'

President Joe Biden told a novelist who won the Pulitzer Prize for consecutive works that he's also "looking for back-to-back" wins himself.

Some reports have suggested that Biden might not seek a second term, while first lady Jill Biden has said he plans to run again in 2024.

"Colson Whitehead, one of the first and only novelists to win the Pulitzer Prize for back-to-back works," Biden said at the White House on Tuesday. "How in the hell did you do that?

"Pretty good, man. I'm kind of looking for back-to-back myself."

Biden made the comments at the White House while presenting the 2021 National Humanities Medals and National Medals of Arts recipients with their medals. The first lady, Vice President Kamala Harris and second gentlemen Doug Emhoff attended the ceremony.

Actress Julia Louis-Dreyfus, who starred in the "Veep" television series, was also among the recipients.

During the ceremony, Biden said he was going to speak with with Julia about "whether she liked being VP or president better," adding, "I've got to figure that one out."
