Black Caucus chair: GOP reaction to Mar-a-Lago raid shows they're 'nervous' about midterms
"I don't speak to the former president and his supporters," Ohio Democratic Rep. Joyce Beatty told Just the News after attending President Biden's signing of the CHIPS bill at the White House on Tuesday.
Ohio Democratic Rep. Joyce Beatty, chair of the Congressional Black Caucus, claims that Republican condemnations of the FBI's raid of former President Trump's home at Mar-a-Lago shows "they're nervous" about the November elections.
Some observers have said the raid could supercharge Trump's potential 2024 campaign. A CNN anchor described Trump's political characterization of the raid as "kind of genius."
Beatty was asked for her reaction to the FBI raid and if she thinks it could embolden Trump and his supporters.
"I don't speak to the former president and his supporters," Beatty told Just the News after attending President Biden's signing of the CHIPS bill at the White House on Tuesday. "They throw a lot of stones just like some of my Republican colleagues who are stirring this up.
"It simply says to me they're nervous about the mid-year elections, and Democrats are focused. We are focused on putting people over politics and that's so important."
