Congress summons Amazon CEO Bezos for House antitrust probe
House Judiciary Committee is investigating Big Tech’s market dominance
Congress is summonsing Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos to Capitol Hill to reportedly address possible misleading statements his company made on business practices.
The request Friday by the House Judiciary Committee is part of a larger investigation by the Democrat-led panel on Big Tech’s market dominance.
Amazon this past summer denied before the committee the veracity of a news report about the company using sensitive information about sellers on its marketplace and about the sellers’ products and transactions to develop its own competing products, the Associated Press reports.
An Amazon executive reportedly said at a committee hearing that the company has a formal policy against such business tactics.
