Senate Republicans blocked the Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and the Demcrats' bill to protect nationwide access to IVF treatments.

Democrats needed 60 votes for the bill to move forward. The vote was 48-47.

Schumer changed his vote from to no as a procedural move to allow for future vote on the bill to take place.

Two Republicans, Sens. Susan Collins, of Maine, and Lisa Murkowski, of Alaska, voted with the Democrats.
