House Speaker Mike Johnson on Wednesday said that there would be “no vote today” on a continuing resolution and the SAVE Act.

The Louisiana Republican said that has to work through the rest of the week to "build consensus," according to Punchbowl founder Jake Sherman.

A source told Just the News that the vote will likely happen next week.

Johnson on Tuesday said during a press conference that he and members of the House were going to vote on a continuing resolution and a critical election integrity bill this week.

The SAVE Act requires voters to show proof of citizenship before voting in a U.S. election.
