Georgia GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene praised House Republicans for passing the Limit, Save, Grow Act of 2023 on Wednesday, which means the Biden administration will have to make the next move on the debt ceiling.

"Just by passing this bill, we save the American people $4.8 trillion," Greene said on the "Just the News, No Noise" TV show. "That's how much spending cuts we just accomplished and we're so excited about it. Now it's up to Joe Biden. He needs to prove to America that he's serious about the nation's debt and he's serious about a good agenda for our country."

The bill will increase the debt limit for one year by $1.5 trillion and reduce the growth of domestic spending. It passed 217-215 with four Republicans voting against it.

Greene went into detail about what was in the bill that was just passed.

"We need to be independent with energy again, just like we were under President Trump," she said. "That's what we put in this package. We also reel back and scrape back all the crazy amounts of COVID money that is just sitting out there ripe for fraud and abuse."

"There's hundreds of billions of dollars of COVID Cash, is what I call it, just sitting there not being used and not being spent," Greene said. "We all know COVID is over with. We need to peel that back in."

She also laid out her plan for House Republicans' next steps.

"What we do is, now that we've gotten this package passed and out of the way, what we have to do is we deal with these problems with the power of the purse," Greene continued. "That's where Republicans have real power, in the budget and appropriations."
