Marjorie Taylor Greene expected to bring censure vote on Tlaib as soon as possible
Greene said she expected every House Republican to vote for the resolution.
Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., said that she is prepared to launch a censure vote against Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., for allegedly leading a protest in the Capitol earlier this month.
"I've introduced a censure resolution against Rashida Tlaib for leading what we would call, an insurrection into the Cannon House Building with radical pro-Hamas groups," Greene said on the Wednesday edition of the "Just the News, No Noise" TV show.
In the U.S., supporters of a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas occupied the Cannon Office Building and staged a sit-in during which they waved banners and were recorded chanting "not in our name." Capitol Police arrested many of the participants. Tlaib was present at the event and reposted a photo of her with demonstrators outside.
According to Greene, some of the members of this sit-in included members of the Southern Poverty Law Center and a group called Global Intifada.
"I hope to introduce that in the form of a privilege resolution, so that we can get that vote to the floor as soon as possible," Greene said in reference to the resolution.
She added that she expects every House Republican to vote for it and hopefully have some Democrats vote for it as well.
