Pelosi cancels press briefing after testing positive for COVID-19
Her weekly press briefing was scheduled for Thursday morning
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has cancelled her planned press briefing on Thursday after testing positive for COVID-19, the latest in a series of high profile coronavirus cases.
“After testing negative this week, Speaker Pelosi received a positive test result for COVID-19 and is currently asymptomatic. The Speaker is fully vaccinated and boosted, and is thankful for the robust protection the vaccine has provided," said Drew Hammill, a Pelosi spokesperson, in a statement.
"The Speaker will quarantine consistent with CDC guidance, and encourages everyone to get vaccinated, boosted and test regularly," he added.
An aide to Vice President Kamala Harris, Attorney General Merrick Garland and Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo have also tested positive.
