Rep. Jason Smith endorses Trump's 'no taxes on tips,' says GOP is the party of the working class
"It says we are the party to eliminate taxes on tips that will help working blue collar families," Missouri GOP Rep. Smith said.
Rep. Jason Smith, R-Mo., on Thursday praised GOP vice presidential nominee J.D. Vance's RNC speech, saying he represents the working class.
"Vance did a phenomenal job," Smith said on the "Just the News, No Noise" TV show. "He's an example of the working class and the Republican Party is the party of the working class."
Sen. J.D. Vance, R-Ohio., addressed the Republican National Convention on Wednesday where he incorporated his upbringing in rural America.
Vance said that former President Donald Trump "represents America's last best hope to restore what if lost may never be found again, a country where a working class boy born far from the halls of power can stand on this stage as the next Vice President of The United States of America."
Smith said that he endorsed Trump's "no tax on tips" plan, saying it is in the GOP party's platform.
"It says we are the party to eliminate taxes on tips. That will help working blue collar families," he said. "It's absolutely important. I've been advocating for something like this for a long time."
