Democrat Rep. Murphy refers to her party's Congressional Progressive Caucus as 'Never Enough Caucus'
House moderates are frustrated over progressives holding up the signing of bipartisan infrastructure bill
Florida Democratic Rep. Stephanie Murphy, chairwoman of the moderate Blue Dog Coalition, is referring to the Congressional Progressive Caucus as the "Never Enough Caucus."
"You have to understand, we are dealing with the 'Never Enough Caucus,' " Murphy said Thursday evening after the House vote on the Senate-passed, $1 trillion infrastructure bill was delayed.
House progressives have demanded that Democratic leaders link the infrastructure bill to the larger-yet-unfinished Build Back Better Act, which contains much of President Biden's social agenda.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi decided late Thursday to postpone voting on the bipartisan infrastructure bill due to progressive opposition to voting on it before the modified Build Back Better Act was finalized.
The Blue Dog Coalition has pushed for the infrastructure bill to be passed in the House independent of Biden's larger bill for climate change and social services.
