Sen. Amy Klobuchar says she is cancer-free after medical procedure
"Thanks to early detection and diligent follow-up visits, my doctor says I am now cancer-free," Sen. Amy Klobuchar said.
Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., announced on Friday that she is cancer-free after having an outpatient medical procedure to remove a calcification.
"I recently had my routine 6-month exam at Mayo Clinic, which I have had regularly ever since being diagnosed with Stage 1A breast cancer and successfully treated in 2021," Klobuchar posted on her X account Friday.
"During this visit, a small white spot called a calcification was found. I had a minimally-invasive outpatient procedure to remove it, which was successful, and this month I will have a few days of radiation as a precaution," she continued. "Thanks to early detection and diligent follow-up visits, my doctor says I am now cancer-free."
She also encouraged "every Minnesotan and every American to get their routine screenings, exams, and follow-ups."
Klobuchar was originally diagnosed with Stage 1A breast cancer in 2021.
