The Department of Justice indicted New York Attorney General Letitia James on Thursday over allegations of fraud.

A grand jury reportedly approved the charges, according to The Guardian.

The indictment followed Federal Housing and Finance Agency Director Bill Pulte making a criminal referral to the Department of Justice, alleging that James falsified bank documents.

"Based on media reports, Ms. Letitia James has, in multiple instances, falsified bank documents and property records to acquire government-backed assistance and loans and more favorable loan terms," he wrote.

James pursued a civil fraud against against Trump in the lead up to the presidential election that he called part of a political witch hunt. The bench trial saw the president quarrel with Judge Arthur Engoron throughout the proceedings.
