Fulton County prosecutor's divorce attorney says he doesn't recall when Willis, Wade got together

The former law partner and divorce attorney of Nathan Wade, the lead Georgia prosecutor in the case against former President Donald Trump, said Tuesday he does not remember when his client began dating Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis.

"I do not have knowledge of it starting or when it started," attorney Terrence Bradley said when questioned by a defense attorney about the relationship. 

The time at which they began dating has become central to the case – in which a Trump co-defendant in the alleged 2020 election interference case argues Willis and her team should be dismissed for unethical behavior. 

Willis and Wade have said they started dating after she hired him as a special prosecutor in the election interference case. However, some evidence Willis hired Wade when he was her boyfriend. 

On Tuesday, Bradley said multiple times that he does not recall when the relationship started, how or when he got that information and doesn't have a date he remembers. 

Willis last year indicted Trump, now a 2024 GOP presidential candidate, and 18 co-defendants over their efforts to challenge the 2020 election results in Georgia.

Willis and Wade's apparent co-mingling of money also has raised ethical concerns – so much so that a judge is now deciding on a legal effort to have Willis removed from the Trump case.  

Judge Scott McAfee, who is presiding over the hearing, earlier this month suggested Willis could be removed, saying the allegations against her "could result in a disqualification."
