Hunter Biden is reportedly going to be deposed in the Delaware civil defamation lawsuit filed by laptop repair shop owner John Paul Mac Issac.

Mac Isaac filed his case against the first son in October 2022, and the younger Biden's expected deposition, as reported by Fox News on Wednesday, comes days after he entered a plea agreement with the Justice Department on two misdemeanor tax charges.

Hunter Biden filed a countersuit in March, claiming that Mac Isaac illegally distributed his personal data. That case also accuses the repair shop owner of six invasion of privacy counts.

Mac Isaac was seeking to have Hunter Biden's lawsuit dismissed, but he was deposed in it by Biden's attorneys for seven hours, the New York Post reported earlier this month.

The debacle began shortly before the 2020 election when Mac Isaac gave a copy of the hard drive to former President Donald Trump's attorney Rudy Giuliani, who in turn gave it to the Post. Mac Isaac said that a man who he thought was Hunter Biden left three laptops at his store the year before. Only one laptop was salvageable, and while repairing it, Mac Isaac said he found disturbing material.

The customer did not return to pick up the laptop within 90 days and Mac Isaac said he could not contact him.

The laptop became a focal point of the 2020 election after the original Post story was heavily censored by social media, and dozens of intelligence officials signed a letter insinuating that the story was Russian disinformation. Republican lawmakers have said that their investigations have shown that the campaign against the story was part of an attempt to boost Joe Biden in the 2020 election.
