Boebert finishes 5th in straw poll in bid to win reelection in different Colorado district

Colorado GOP Rep. Lauren Boebert came in fifth place in a recent voter straw poll for the district in which she's now running. 

Boebert, a conservative firebrand, recently abandon her original district, a swing district, when winning a third term appeared increasingly difficulty. 

She moved from the state's 3rd Congressional District to its 4th District, after GOP Rep. Ken Buck announced he would not seek reelection for that seat and would retire.

The poll followed a 45-minute debate, and just 117 participants, about two-thirds of the eligible attendees, cast ballots, debate organizer Tammy Klein, vice president of event sponsors Republican Women of Weld, told Colorado Politics. 

The debate hall also was reportedly filled with local Republicans loyal to other candidates who shared the stage with Boebert.

Boebert, a support of former President Trump, narrowly won a second term. Her new district is solidly Republican, which gives her better chance of winning the general election if she wins the primary.
